9 Months. . .

Logan will be 9 months old tomorrow. I read back over all my blogs since he was born and am having a hard time believing all that we've done and all the memories we've made in this short period of time. This is only 9 months of his life and I already feel that I've forgotten so much. How do I bottle up each and every memory and never forget it?!

Logan is more fun now than ever. I feel like I could say that every day. A new fun piece of his charming personality reveals itself each time we interact with him.

Logan brushing his teeth. . . sort of.

At 9 months:

We are playing lots of copy-cat games. Logan grunts. Mommy grunts. Logan laughs and grunts again. Mommy grunts. And on and on and on. . .

He is getting our third tooth - another bottom one.

Logan really enjoys finger foods - toast, yogurt melts, puffs, pizza crust, some cut up fruit.

He is pulling up on anything he can get to. He can even rotate from the coffee table to the couch.

Crawling. FAST.

Changing diapers is a two man job. Logan can roll over and be on his knees in less than 1 second (I swear! I'm going to time it.)

He loves standing on his changing table (supervised of course!) and playing with the letters on his wall. "G" is the most played with since it is in the middle. And he gets a kick out of when I point to each letter and say what it is and then point to him and say "Logan".

Bath time is, well, almost not worth it sometimes. It is very hard to keep him on his bottom. He wants to crawl around and play with the drain switch and faucet (which is covered in a plastic Noah's Ark thing), which isn't too dangerous I suppose, but he is also constantly pulling up on the side.

He is almost waving bye-bye. As long as there are no distractions he will wiggle his fingers. And his teacher and I both think he said "BA" the other day when I dropped him off.

Logan claps a lot, pats on things, plays quietly in his crib until he falls asleep, grabs his pacifier out of my hand and shoves it into his mouth, tries to help turn pages of his board books, and sleeps 11 hours at night, though he takes terrible 30-45 minute naps at school.

Logan's smile and sparkly eyes melt mommy and daddy's hearts and draw the attention of lots of strangers. He is a sweet, sweet boy and we are so blessed to wake up every day and get to spend it with him.

at the Doctor's Office

After our trip to the Aquarium and a cat-nap on the ride home, Logan had his 9 month Dr. visit. Thankfully there were no infant vaccinations on today's schedule, but he did get his flu shot. Did you know that under the age of 8, the first time a child receives his flu shot, he has to have it twice?! So we go back in a month for round 2.

Logan weighs 21 pounds 3 ounces. He is 29 inches long. His weight has gone down on the curve after it's spike at 6 months. Doc says he will probably hold steady now for several years (55% ish). We can tell because he's not growing out of clothes as quickly (thank Heavens!) Logan continues to spike in the height department, growing 1 1/2 inches since his last visit (65% ish).

Dallas World Aquarium

I took the day off work to join some friends for a play date at the Dallas World Aquarium. There were 5 adults and 7 kids. 4 strollers (including one for twins) and 1 wagon. What an adventure!

We had a blast and didn't have many melt-downs. Logan fell asleep after lunch just after strolling through the shark tunnel. We were surrounded and it was really neat!

Here are some of the pictures from my camera. Rachel and Emily took pictures, too, so I'll post more once I get those.

Presley. Who helped Logan with his bottle at lunch while rubbing his hair. She is very nurturing.

Jack and Kate, who are even more precious in person than on their blog if you can even imagine how that is possible!

Emily took Jack to look at the birds and Kate got a little hungry I guess

Weekend Project

We stained our fence

and re-stained the deck

Who needs toys?

Now that Logan's mobile I'm questioning all my toy purchases. Logan plays with a coffee table, an ottoman, a drawer, a stainless steel water bottle and Lucy's kennel more than anything else. And today he found Andrew's iPod charger 4 times and I can't even count how many times he tried to play with the brick fireplace. It is a nice break from all the singing toys, though!

Katie Bug

We went to dinner Saturday night with our old neighbors and dear friends. Katelyn was born 3 1/2 months after Logan, so she and Logan are good buds. By the time I got the camera out, Miss Katelyn had had enough of us. I think she was hungry. Or very tired because BOY! does she go to town in her jumper!

We miss you Travis, Liz and Katelyn!
