Halloween Party 2011

Tonight was Ridgea's Halloween party - Aaron's first time in costume. He didn't like his monster head too much, but I can't blame him because it did keep falling in his eyes. Aaron was a finalist in the 3 and under group. Logan is a race car driver and gladly keeps his "helmet" on. He's one super cool dude. We had a great time with lots of neighbors and friends.
Yeah, he's awake.
Logan and Ella talking about her trip to Disney World
Olivia in action. I had a hard time tonight getting anyone to pose.
I'm pretty sure Andrew asked the balloon artist for a steering wheel???

Homecoming 2011

We decided this year was a good year to start in on Homecoming festivities with the boys. Friday night we went to grab a burger with some friends at a place on University Dr. then stepped outside to watch the parade. Then we headed to the commons to enjoy some music and bounce houses, rolling down hills and running in circles. We are excited to add this to our list of traditions.

Caleb and Aaron - big boys

Caleb and Aaron during snack time at school.
I always love to see such little guys sitting at these tiny tables like big boys. Aaron is King Spit Up, so he's always in bib at school.

School pictures

If you remember, the day we left for Omaha was also picture day at school. It was a busy morning if you can imagine! The boys were dressed to coordinate as siblings usually get a shot together. With Logan it sometimes helps to talk up an event so he'll be ready and cooperate better, so the night before and on the way to school that morning that is exactly what I did. We looked at his past two school pictures and I told him how this was Aaron's first time and that he could show him how it works. Well, that didn't work. I got a call from school around 10 am asking if I'd like to come talk to Logan because he didn't want to take pictures. I told them not to worry about it and not to force him. I showed up to school that afternoon and the assistant head of school said that they finally got him to do it, but that he didn't smile. And sure enough. . .

It probably goes without saying that we didn't get the sibling shot.

We just ordered these two and Logan's class picture.

And this one makes me giggle every time I look at it!

Notice that Logan has already changed clothes. Looks like Owen was pretty put out, too.

Fall things

Lots going on at the Thomas house this Fall. We've been enjoying the nice weather. And today was our first day in the 60s! Don't think we'll be back above 85 for a while. (but now that I've written that. . . . )

Painting our family pumpkin for school (most other pumpkins don't appear to have involved the whole family, but I'm so proud of our masterpiece!)

Rock n Roll!

Up until last Friday, Logan wanted to be Luke Skywalker for Halloween, thus when I asked him what he was singing he said "Skywalker." He's been a little obsessed with Star Wars. I think he maybe saw 2 or 3 minutes of it one day when it was on TV. Since then we pretend everything is a lightsaber. Glad we hadn't ordered the costume yet because he changed his mind. . .

Omaha

Two weeks ago we flew to Omaha for a few days. We were nervous to fly with both boys, but only because we'd not done it yet. Turns out there was nothing to fear. Logan was such a big boy and watched movies on the computer and Aaron just ate, played, and slept. We are so blessed with easy kiddos. Getting through security was slightly more complicated that we were accustomed to, but probably because we're too cheap to check more bags.

The weather in Omaha was perfect! 60's and 70's during the day - a nice change to our never-ending 90's. Thursday we went to the Omaha zoo with Mimi and Grandpa. Friday we went to visit my college friend Leigh and her new twins (she now has FOUR kids under the age of 3 1/2!). That afternoon Bob and Andrew played in a golf tournament. On Saturday we headed to the Aksarben (Nebraska spelled backwards) Stock Show with cousins Olivia and Addison. This Texas girl got some funny looks in her open toed shoes. Of course if I'd know a stock show was in the plans I would have packed my boots.

It took a little convincing, but he finally chose to ride something other than the bench!

Talking to the peacock

This gorilla was great entertainment. Here he is putting wood chips on his back and walking around. They're so near human that I can't help but to wonder what they're thinking. Omaha has a great zoo, especially the primate exhibit.

Pesky little brother!

Making S'mores by the fire pit

Tickle time!!!

Matching PJ picture night. Judy had cookies made to match, too. They were super cute and super yummy too!
