I'm finally getting around to posting pictures from the 4th. I rushed Dad and Amy to get the pictures to me - and they did- then I dropped the ball.
It was great to have family in town for the 4th. Our neighborhood has a cute parade - lots of kids on bikes, candy throwing, decorated golf carts, etc. Logan was napping through the parade last year and I am glad that he is old enough to enjoy them now.
While my sister was in town we made another trip to the duck pond (no pictures), went to the zoo, and Chloe and Silas spent hours upon hours in the pool. I was also introduced to Twilight and mom kept Logan while Chloe, Amy and I went to New Moon. Still torn between Edward and Jacob.Logan loved all the entertainment his cousins provided. He still mentions their names several times a day. It is precious.
We love our Mommy.
And Daddy, too!
Logan got to go down the slide and he loves it! I put him on about half way down and Andrew catches him.

More Guests
Shortly after my 3 week absence from blogging began, my childhood friend Andrea and her family stopped in to see us for a night on their way from Colorado to south Texas. Andrea and Daniel have the two most beautiful and sweet little girls I've ever been around. It was great to catch up, if even just for a few hours. Hopefully they'll be back in Texas permanently soon! Here are Taylor and Logan running around the house.

We're Baa-aaack!
As you'll notice, I've posted several entries tonight. I wasn't planning on getting around to this until next week, but our weekend company had to cancel their visit. Andrew's sister and her family was to arrive yesterday from Omaha, but Olivia had a high fever and was really under the weather, so they had to cancel. We are sad and we miss them, but are glad we will get to see them in 5 weeks in Omaha.
My sister just left on Wednesday. She and her kiddos drove down from Colorado for 9 days and split the time between here and San Antonio. Only 2 of her 3 made the trip because they, too, had a sick kiddo on departure day. We missed you so much, Titus, but I heard you had lots of fun at home. I didn't take a single picture of their visit, but Amy and my parents took lots, so as soon as they share (eh hem!) I'll put 'em up and write about it.
Logan turned 19 months on June 20. He is a talkaholic and a climber. Some of his new words/phrases include: Colorado, don't want it, touch it?, reeeach, light on/off, [frog] go? (as in where did the [whatever] go?) He says the names of all his friends and teachers at school. It is all so clear, too.
What is blowing us away right now is how he matches shapes. We have a shape box with 9 shapes (thanks Karyn!) and he knows them all. No joke. Oval and diamond are his favorite, but he struggles the most with getting the diamond in the box. We were standing in the kitchen the other day and he pointed to the wood work around the bookshelf and said, "diamond." Seriously?! Yes! And then pointed to another cut out, "triangle?" Then he was looking at a book of shapes last night and pointed to an oval and said "oval." I was across the room, folks. I didn't prompt this brilliance. This could be very normal for all kids his age, but I don't have any to compare it to, so I just think he's a genius. But I am his mother.
Logan had two swim lessons this month. We had a lady from church who has taught swim for years come to the house and help us on some different skills we can work on. Logan wasn't to into it, but I learned a lot of games and songs that I find useful.
And we can't have a post without a picture, so here's our turtle friend who came for another visit a few weeks ago.

Go Frogs
I was cleaning the kitchen a couple weeks ago and heard Logan say, "Go Frogs!" I turned the corner to find him on the floor with a TCU magazine open to a picture of the football team after a game holding up their frogs with big smiles on their faces. I was shocked that Logan remembered what to say! Here's the video of me recreating it for Andrew that night at dinner.
An Evening Visitor
We were having issues with our cable and internet connection for a while and the night TCU played Florida State the second time in the College World Series our TV froze. You've got to be kidding me! And I rush to the garage to listen to finish the game in the car. Our cable had gone out right before the grand slam that brought us from behind to win the game and keep us in the tournament. And we missed it.
Anyway, I backed the car out of the garage so I could have the car and AC running. (No, we don't have a radio in our house.) So I'm sitting there and I see something big land on our pool fence. I call Andrew on my cell and tell him and he comes out with his camera. The owl moved to the tree and just sat there and let Andrew flash several pictures of him.
Oh yeah, the blog!
Just a few pictures to catch you up. . .
Logan made Andrew this shirt at school for Father's Day and super dad wore it out shopping! Good thing we got a picture because it turns out the purple wasn't fabric paint!
Andrew cleaned out the garage this weekend and found a box of cars from when he was little. This has provided hours of entertainment for Logan.
We tried blueberries several times in the past with no success, but finally the kid likes 'em!
