Logan lately
Logan is still keeping us busy. Thankfully the weather here has been so nice and we get to spend a lot of time messing up the back yard instead of the house. When we're not playing outside, Logan's favorite toy is my iPhone. I have several educational games on it and he consistently amazes us, not only with how well he recognizes shapes, colors, numbers and letters, but also at how well he operates my phone! Sometimes I have to remind myself that he is only 2. He knows how to unlock my phone and find all of the features - camera and "typing" (search screen) - and apps that he wants. I took him to a Junior League thing with me after school today and knew that he would be still and quiet for me if he had my phone. Sure enough!

Golfing using daddy's golf glove. The baseball cap and boots are the first things he runs to his room to get every day after school. And I don't know where he learned it (eh hem), but occasionally he will turn his hat backwards - super cute.
Sunday nights are Mexican restaurant nights for us. Logan is a super restaurant guest and since Aaron still sleeps a lot, these are enjoyable family outings.
Logan is fascinated by our lawn guys. He and Frank have become good buds and Logan likes to help out when he can.
Often lately I hear "put Aaron down." Tonight at dinner he wanted more milk and when Andrew got up to get it for him he asked that I "put Aaron down" and get it for him. Bossy?! And instead of calling Andrew daddy he called him Daffy Duck. Had to be there. . .

Aaron and Caleb
As I mentioned in a post a while back, there were 3 of us pregnant in my office of 13. I was due February 13 and Judy was due on the 12th. Because this was my second baby, I was able to schedule to be induced and did so on the 11th. Judy was frustrated because her Dr. was going to make her wait it out.
WELL. . . while I was in labor I learned from our other pregnant buddy (who was still at work) that Judy had gone into labor and had been admitted. She was in the delivery room right next to me. Aaron was born at noon and Caleb at around 7 PM. The next morning, Andrew, Aaron and I took a walk down to their room to meet Caleb.
Since then we have had a few lunch dates. And yesterday, Kristin and baby Alyssa were able to join us too! Alyssa was born on March 8. I wanted to get pictures of all 3 of them together, but they were all happily sleeping and we didn't want to mess that up. Next week. . .
Here are Aaron and Caleb though.

Aaron at 6 1/2 Weeks
Aaron weighs 11.5 lbs and is starting to smile and find his voice. We spend our days in very stimulating conversations as you might imagine. He is sleeping great at night eating at 1 and 5 usually and going right back to sleep. Our evenings are a little rough - maybe a little colic between 5 and 8 PM, but I can't complain because he really is a great baby!

And for those of you who have asked how similar the boys look to each other:

Road Trip
Last weekend I took the boys to San Antonio to visit my parents. From there we all drove to Harlingen/McAllen to visit my brother's family and old friends. The boys were superstar road trippers, Andrew was able to have a relaxing weekend off, and I was glad for the change of scenery and extra hands.
Logan's favorite parts of the trip were getting to ride with Poppy in the golf cart, watching movies in the car, and playing with all of Ms. Cheryl's tractors. Dad stayed in McAllen Saturday night and mom and I took the boys to Harlingen to see old friends. We stayed at Farmer Richard (as Logan came to know him) and Ms. Cheryl's house. They have 2 cribs permanently set up, so it worked out nicely for us. The Keltners, Magees, and Lynn Johnsons came over for an impromptu party. I'm so mad that I didn't get any pictures.

When the church service started in Harlingen, Logan immediately put his hands over his ears. The music was really loud and since he always goes to Sunday school at our church he doesn't have any reference for this loud music at church. I took him out into the lobby until the worship neared its end. When we went back in he continued to cover his ears and telling me, "I don't like this church." Don't take it personally CFC Harlingen.

Brothers
It is slow progress, but Logan is becoming more and more interested in Aaron. Here are the three shots we have of them together so far.
Notice his hand behind Aaron. He pushed him away right after the shot.
Before pushing him away, he said, "I'm done." Progress.
Logan's newest stall tactic before bed is to say that he wants to hold Aaron. Sometimes we give in, sometimes we don't. A few times this week I've caught Logan looking at Aaron and saying, "awwww." Then he quickly moves on to something else.
The other night Andrew was holding Aaron and I was going to put Logan to bed. I asked Logan to give baby Aaron kisses and he reached over and awkwardly poked his cheek. Then he grabbed his nose. All of our noses make different honking sounds when squeezed, so I guess he wanted to see what baby Aaron's nose sounded like. It all happened so quickly that I wasn't able to formulate a noise in time. I'll have to start thinking of what tiny beep his nose will make.
Aaron was in his papasan chair the other day and his arms flailed up while he was sleeping and one of his arms kind of lingered in the air for a few seconds. Logan walked over and gave him a fist bump. Died laughing.
This is big progress for us since the first week Aaron was here and crying in the car Logan asked me to let him out and then asked to go back home. No joke. Now he ignores the crying or tries to shush shush shush him.
We love our precious boys so much and are so excited to watch their relationship grow. We look forward to them being best buds someday.
